DG7 is an alliance of major government-supported international broadcasters, including the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), the Broadcasting Board of Governors of America (BBG, including Voice of America and Free Asia Radio), Germany’s international broadcaster Deutsche Welle, France Médias Monde (FMM), Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) and RNW Media of the Netherlands. On 6th November, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, all the Chinese team of DG7 came to the Netherlands for a meeting aiming to tackle challenges across international boundaries, including the political and social affairs participation of Chinese youth through social media (Weibo, WeChat and Apps), the new trends and development of Chinese social media, and how western media combat with the censorship fighting for the freedom of information and freedom of expression.
