Chinese radio from Amsterdam gets broadcast time in Shanghai

Chinese broadcasting companies in Amsterdam and Shanghai link together

From 9th of April of 2010, Chinese Radio and Television (CRTV) from Amsterdam will collaborate with Shanghai Media Group (SMG), one of the largest mediacompanies of China. Every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 9.00 till 10.00 pm (GMT+1), CRTV broadcasts a radioprogram in Mandarin, with lifestyle-matters. SMG will broadcast ten minute-fragments of this program in its own program 'Live it up Shanghai' every Friday from 9 pm (GMT+7).

'Live it up Shanghai' informs the listeners in Shanghai about customs, cultures and habits in the UK, USA, Japan and Korea. From 9th of April 2010, The Netherlands will join in. Both radioprograms aim at more or less the same target group: high-educated, self-conscious Chinese students. Both radioprograms are also more and more supported by young expats. This target group is especially interested in different cultures, tourism, entertainment and new products.

'Live it up Shanghai' has been broadcasted since 2003 and is market leader in this field. The program enjoys an audience more than three times greater than its closest competitor, counted with a reach across all eleven radio channels in Shanghai. CRTV, founded in 1996, brings radio broadcasts in Mandarin, Cantonese and Dutch. Since 2007 CRTV also brings television broadcasts and since 2008 publishes a magazine.
