Tijdens deze tentoonstelling kunt u genieten van Chinese kunst voor aan de wand. Een verrassende combinatie van rijstpapieren prenten, textiel, fotografie, porselein, schilderingen op papier , vroege keramiek en houten raamwerken. Wij vieren hiermee de diversiteit en rijkdom van de Chinese kunst en tonen hoe het gepresenteerd kan worden bij u thuis.
De Oriënt door een Lens
Ter gelegenheid van deze expositie tonen wij voor het eerst vroege fotografie van de 19de en 20ste-eeuw gemaakt in China en Japan. Deze gevarieerde collectie van 40 zwart wit foto's omvat beelden van het alledaagse leven, portretten, landschappen en architectuur uit de tijd van de laatste keizers. Prijzen vanaf €300.

JinXing Dance Theatre
At the heart of Lovely Liquid Lounge is a performance about the remarkable life story of the Chinese celebrity Jin Xing, also colonel in the Chinese army, who decided to become a woman at the age of 28. In a setting reminiscent of a living room or a varitiey theatre -the audience takes place on stage- a company of internationally renowned artists asks questions about gender change an typical male and female behaviour.

The Red Chamber by Zuhe Niao
The dream of the Red Chamber, one of the most well-known works of Chinese literature, describes the life and demise of the aristocracy in 18th-century China. The title refers to the screened off spaces where the daughters of rich families lived. In this installation of a red chamber, the foremost theme of the book -the concept that the world is a dream- is placed in the present.

Acteur Gordon Liu (劉家輝) komt naar Nederland
Voor de 7de keer wordt de jaarlijkse traditionele Kung Fu kampioenschappen georganiseerd in Amsterdam. In totaal maken maximaal 20 teams het onderling uit wie de 2010 kampioen wordt.
Speciale gast van deze enerverende dag vol met spectaculaire Chinese vechtstijlen, is Gordon Liu.
Gordon Liu is bekend van een groot aantal Chinese vechtfilms zoals 36th chambers of Shaolin maar ook van zijn rol in Kill Bill volume 1 (in de rol van Johny Mo, head general of the crazy 88) en in Kill Bill volume 2 als Pa Mei. Zijn meest recente film is de Hong Kong kassakraker True Legend.
Een unieke mogelijkheid om een van China’s bekendste kung fu acteurs te ontmoeten.
